Instructors for TFF-2026

Hailing from the beautiful bayous of South Louisiana, Ilea Bizarre brings with her a style of dance she’s been evolving since her first taste of Bellydance in 2002.

Inspired first by early tribal fusion, cloaked in dark tones of mystery, sprinkled with serpentine flow and intricacy, the audible becomes visible, as the greatest gift of dance for her is the honor of bringing music to life through movement.

“We do not dance to the music, we dance with it”

Mirror, Mirror

Let’s step through the glass and push our way through the unknown in order to become the reflection. Join me as we move against the grain, abandoning comfort zones, expanding the boundaries of creative movement beyond any previous limit.

In this class we will learn complex combinations celebrating my favorite elements of dance; isolations, layers, lines, and arms. We will then take the combos, flip ‘em ,and reverse ‘em, exploring the movement pattern on the opposite side of the body drilling both sides of the mirror image. This will allow us to explore partner work and group formation dynamic while challenging the dance brain, keeping you learning and advancing at any skill level.

Dancing the Crooked Path

There’s power in the path less aligned.

In Dancing the Crooked Path, we explore the beauty and tension found in asymmetry — the off-center poses, uneven pathways, and fractured patterns that create depth, drama, and unpredictability in your dance.

Through foundational drills and stylized combos, you’ll train your body to move with intention in the imbalance — to carve out space for distortion, to lean into the unexpected, and to find harmony in the jagged and wild.

This all-levels workshop is rooted in dark fusion aesthetics and fueled by creative exploration. Walk the crooked path — and let it transform your dance.

We thought we had Vidya's Bio -- but we were WRONG!!! We will get it online as soon as possible.

Indian Fusion Choreography

This class blends the grace and storytelling of Indian classical dance with a creative fusion choreography, offering an opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with movement on a deeper level.

It is highly recommended to take the Indian Fusion Technique workshop since the elements taught in that workshop will be used in the choreography.

All levels welcome.

Indian Fusion Technique

Explore aspects of Indian Fusion, learn the foundational techniques, footwork, mudras, and expressions rooted in Indian classical and folk dance traditions, and develop an understanding of key Indian dance terms and concepts to enhance your skills.

This class also provides insight into history, meaning behind the moves, and other cultural aspects to enrich your connection to the dance.

All levels welcome.

Queenie de la Rosa is a fusion dancer, touring artist, performer and event producer with over a decade of dedicated training. Introduced to bellydance as a child through her mother’s hobby, she has been connected to the art form since the age of seven. Her journey deepened when she began practicing with street performers who created theatrical presentations and ritual dance, and shortly after she moved into bellydance, street dance styles, Latin dance, burlesque, yoga, and a variety of fusion disciplines that have shaped her bold and unique style.

Her work has taken her internationally to France, Mexico, and Cuba for both teaching and performing, as well as all over the U.S., including tours through the Pacific Northwest. Queenie draws on her life experiences and creativity to express what lives within her soul, seeing dance as both a tool of self-expression and a path to knowledge. Through her performances and workshops, she inspires others to explore their own voices in dance and express themselves to the fullest of their ability.

Rhythm Work & Fusion Bellydance

In this workshop, dance and rhythm meet in real time. We’ll explore how fusion bellydance technique connects to live percussion—feeling the beat, interpreting accents, and playing with musical layers.

With Queenie guiding movement and Duke bringing live rhythms, you’ll experience how isolations, shimmies, and hipwork shift when the drum speaks back to you. Together we’ll work on timing, responsiveness, and finding your groove, so you can bring more depth and confidence to both improvisation and choreography. This workshop goes deep into the world of rhythm and dance.

Duke Hunter—percussionist, rhythm educator in Arabic rhythms with over 6,000 classes taught—guides dancers through the structure of rhythm. Queenie de la Rosa brings this knowledge into the body, creating a direct dialogue between drum and dance.

More than just movement, this class builds musicality from the inside out. Participants learn to embody rhythms, understand their technical foundation, and apply them through dynamic bellydance fusion.

Fusion Movement Lab

This workshop is an open space for exploring how fusion bellydance can expand through play and experimentation.

We’ll use drills, guided improvisation, and creative prompts to break habits and discover new ways of moving. Expect to layer isolations, hipwork, and traveling steps with unexpected influences—from street style textures to theatrical expression.

The focus is less on learning a set combo, and more on opening up possibilities in your own body and dance voice.
